At least two people and six dogs were pulled out an apartment fire in northwest Oklahoma City, fire officials said.

Oklahoma City firefighters were called shortly before 7:40 p.m. Tuesday to Pine Lake Apartments, 6800 NW 13, in reference to a fire in a downstairs apartment, Oklahoma City fire spokesman Benny Fulkerson said.

One person was pulled out of the apartment prior to firefighters' arrival and firefighters found another person in an upstairs unit.

The person in the downstairs apartment was taken to a local hospital to be treated for lacerations while going out of the window, Fulkerson said.

The second person was not hurt.

Five puppies and an adult dog were brought out of one of the apartments.

The fire was knocked down in less than 15 minutes, Fulkerson said.

The damage is estimated to be about $7,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
