Speeds reached 100 miles an hour, then Hardy finally stopped and got on the ground after a seven-minute chase. You can hear the conversation between him and the trooper as they sit in the patrol car.

Hardy is accused of opening fire on several cars and trucks along I-40 and killing 45-year-old Kent Powell of Arapaho and 63-year old Billie Jean West of Lone Wolf.

He is currently being held in the Custer County jail without bond.
