Ahead of the biggest bridal show in the state, organizers are out more than $20,000 worth of supplies after a thief took off with their trailer.

It happened at a storage facility in southwest Oklahoma City and it was caught on camera.

Ken Monier and his wife bring small businesses together to give brides the best selection as they shop for one of the most important days of their life.

“It’s a win-win situation for them. It helps them a lot,” Monier said.

They own the Oklahoma Bridal Show, and to get ready for an upcoming event, they filled their new 8.5 by 20 foot trailer with supplies. Then they secured it with three different locks in a parking space at Apublix Storage off SW 13 Street and S MacArthur Boulevard.

“We were going to be more efficient where it would always be loaded and ready to go to a show. And so, that didn’t work out too good [sic],” he explained.

Around 11 p.m. on Jan. 2, security cameras showed a paint-chipped truck pulling in, the driver punching in a code, and minutes later the same truck leaving with the Monier's trailer.

“It was very sickening,” he said.

The storage company system showed the code used to get in that night was paid for with cash back in December at one of the 24-hour kiosks.

And the tenant has since stopped paying, so that code was recently overlocked.

Even though the $5,700 trailer carrying $18,000 worth of tables, banners, bar code scanners and other items was stolen, Monier said they are replacing it all and the show will go on.

“It’s not a big deal. It’s just very upsetting at first,” he said.

A rep for Apublix said this was the first time they'd had this kind of issue with a tenant. They are now looking at accepting cash only inside during business hours.

Police now have an extra patrol unit assigned to the storage property.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call Oklahoma City police.
