Authorities Hope To Identify Woman Cashing Stolen Checks In McClain County

The McClain County Sheriff’s office is asking for your help in finding a woman who they say stole a check from a mailbox and cashed it at the Purcell Wal-Mart.

Security video shows the woman after police say she cashed the check and bought hundreds of dollars’ worth of merchandise. She then leaves Walmart in a mid-90’s dark green Pontiac Grand Prix or Grand Am. 

Police say once she’s caught, she faces serious charges. 

“Well she could be charged with theft of mail, state or federal and also for obtaining merchandise by false and bogus (means) for altering the check,” said McClain County Sheriff’s Office Detective Dana Guthrie.
