Tax season is here and as we all know, filing can be a bit taxing. And after all the work is done, Americans want their refunds as fast as possible.
Over 40 million of us are expected to get a refund this year, and there are several ways we can make that process quickly.
The first step is to file your tax return online. Some tax online services include TurboTax, H&R Block and Jackson Hewitt.
Secondly, make sure you file electronically. When you E-file your tax return, the IRS will be able to access your information faster.
Also, don’t forget to set up the refund to be direct deposited into your bank account. Experts say if you file by paper and request a paper check, you can wait up to six weeks or more.
If you file electronically and request a refund by paper check, the wait time is four weeks or more. However, if you e-file and select direct deposit, you should have your money in about 10 business days.
Another tip, file your taxes as soon as possible. If you need help, talk to a tax expert.
