Stillwater Police Investigate Shooting That Injured One

Stillwater police are investigating a shooting that injured one person Monday afternoon.

According to police, shortly after 3:30 p.m., officers responded to a reported shooting that occurred near the intersection of 13th Ave. and Fern St. in the southeast part of Stillwater.  Police received calls from several citizens reporting they heard multiple gunshots in the area. 

A short time later, police said a gunshot victim arrived at the Stillwater Medical Center Emergency Room seeking treatment.  The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Stillwater resident Curtis Tyrone Brown.  Brown was treated for gunshot wounds to his arm and legs.  He is in good condition.

Physical evidence located during the investigation revealed the shooting occurred in the yard of a home in the 1300 block S. Fern St. Police learned that the victim and suspects were at a gathering at the home prior to the shooting when they became involved in a disagreement.

Police said the victim and some witnesses in this incident are not being cooperative with police.
