Oklahoma City police arrested a man accused of assaulting a bank employee with a large butcher knife Monday morning.
According to police, 68-year-old David Hammer walked into a bank in the 2600 block of N. Meridian, carrying a plastic trash bag. He waited several minutes before walking across the lobby and confronting a female employee.
Police said Hammer pulled out a large butcher knife and made a stabbing motion toward the employee, making contact but not cutting her.
Three customers quickly disarmed Hammer and held him on the ground until officers arrived. Hammer was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on complaints of assault with a dangerous weapon and robbery with a dangerous weapon. A bond has not been set.
