A Moore teacher is now suspended after allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a student. Moore police are now investigating and call this a serious allegation.
News 9 was told the investigation involves a female Moore High School teacher and a male student. The student's parents want to press charges, police said.
The school district first learned of the claims of an inappropriate relationship Friday and immediately reported it to police.
In a statement released Tuesday by Moore Public Schools, the district said the alleged incident "occurred off campus."
Details of the investigation though are limited. The name of that teacher won't be released unless charges are filed.
“Without hurting the investigation, there's just not a lot of details at all the we can go into,” Moore police Sgt. Jeremy Lewis said.
Police confirm the investigation involves a juvenile Moore student.
Since Friday, detectives have worked to determine the truth behind the allegations and how long the relationship may have been going on.
"The details of the allegations are disturbing and any behaviors that compromise the safety of our students will not be tolerated," Moore Public Schools said.
While the teacher is on administrative leave, the student is still at school.
Police said charges could be presented to the district attorney as early as Wednesday.
