Oklahoma City police arrested a doctor accused of sexually assaulting a female patient.
According to police, on Thursday, officers arrested 59-year-old Kersi Bharucha at his office at OU Physicians, on a complaint of sexual battery. Bharucha is accused of inappropriately touching a female patient.
Police said the alleged assault actually took place at the doctor's office in October, 2015. The patient reported the incident to OU police in February. That investigation was recently turned over to Oklahoma City police.
Investigators working on the case developed evidence on Thursday that indicate there is probable cause to arrest Bharucha.
Police believe it’s possible that there may be other victims out there. They want to hear from anyone who was victimized by this man.
Paul Sund, Director of Marketing and Communications with OU Physicians, released the following statement,
“OU Physicians is aware of the situation and is monitoring it closely. We are cooperating with law enforcement regarding the matter and have put Dr. Kersi Bharucha on administrative leave pending further information.”
