The Grady County Sheriff’s office is warning the public of a fake GoFundMe account asking for donations for an ailing deputy.

News 9 first told you about 35-year-old Corey Loftice’ battle with stage four kidney failure in a story that aired Tuesday night. On Wednesday afternoon, a post on the Grady County sheriff’s office Facebook page warned about the fake GoFundMe account.

Donations can be made directly to the Grady County Sheriff’s office at 302 N. 3rd St. in Chickasha, Okla. Also, Flores Mexican Restaurant in Chickasha has also pledged to donate a portion of their proceeds to Loftice.

The sheriff’s office says they have other fundraiser ideas in the works for the future as well.
