The seats of Chesapeake Energy Arena will be packed in the coming days as March Madness kicks off in Oklahoma City.
Inside the arena, Rob Carolla, Media Coordinator of Big 12, says they are getting ready for teams to arrive Thursday. Fresh wood and brand new nets are being set up Wednesday. He expects all 17,000 plus seats to be filled.
Fans are already starting to trickle in. The Oklahoma City Convention and Visitor's Bureau says spending could reach $2 million by the end of the weekend.
"We're blessed to have it for the fourth time," said Charles Stout, managing partner of Bricktown Brewery.
The store is just a few blocks and walking distance from the arena. Stout expects sales to go up 75 percent. Bricktown Brewery is planning to host VCU and Texas A&M's pep rallies.
"Welcome to Oklahoma," said Stout.
Open practice starts Thursday at 12:00 p.m. It is free to the public. The first game kicks off at 12:30 on Friday as VCU takes on Oregon State.
