Skeletal remains discovered Tuesday, March 22, just west of Lake Stanley Draper are those of a 1979 Midwest City High School graduate, who went missing on Christmas Eve according to a family friend.

Don McEntire, 55, was last seen outside his twin brother’s home at SE 44th and Sooner
Road on Christmas Eve morning, according to McEntire’s best friend Arron Tindell.

Tindell said police contacted him Tuesday morning, and told him they’d found McEntire’s remains, along with his wallet, a handgun, and clothes that match the description of what McEntire was wearing the day he disappeared.

“It’s over. It’s closure, and we can go on you know,” an emotional Tindell told News 9 outside his Del City home Wednesday.

The Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office said it’s still investigating who the remains belong to, and the cause of death.

Tindell said his friend may have taken his life because of some lingering health issues, and grief over his father’s sudden death last fall during a freak traffic accident.

“He’ll be back with his family before too long, and he’ll be alright,” Tindell said.
