Tough to see state agencies scrambling to operate on less money, but the cuts to the Mental Health Department are some of the most worrisome to me.

Here's what you had to say about it:

Kimberly from Shawnee first, "Thank you, Kelly! The services for the Department of Mental Health have been insufficient for many years."

Jennifer writes, "Unless you have dealt with it personally, you have no idea how frustrating it is to get help for someone!"

Mardie from Edmond, "Outsiders don't tend to understand our frustrations, because they believe our children simply have trouble with authority & haven't been disciplined properly."

From Keysha, "Family members need help dealing with family that has mental illness ... we are stressed ... angry ... confused ... feel helpless ... we need assistance and guidance as well."

Ryan says, "If loved ones have no place to get help, bad things can happen in a hurry!"

Ruth writes, "I think this cut to be short-sighted as those who do not receive help often become part of the homeless and/or prison populations."

Finally, from Ann, "We have to treat this terrifying disease at its roots and Oklahomans should chase down their 'representatives' and insist that these cuts don't take place. Keep at 'em until they cry 'uncle.'"

I'm Kelly Ogle and that's YOUR 2 Cents.
