A former Blanchard police officer is accused of trying of hook up with a 14-year-old girl to do drugs and have sex.
Canadian County undercover detectives arrested Derrick Kearnes, 36, Saturday near SW 15 and Mustang Road.
Canadian County Undersheriff Chris West said an undercover detective answered an online ad posted by Derrick Kearnes on April 1.
After Kearnes' arrest, West said Kearnes made a full confession that he had planned to meet a 14-year-old girl, do methamphetamine and have sex.
Blanchard police spokesman Brandon Wheeler said Kearnes was a Blanchard police officer from November 2005 until he was either fired or forced to resign four months later.
"I'm definitely glad the Canadian County Sheriff's Office was able to apprehend this guy. He obviously doesn't need to be out in the public if he's a threat to children," he said.
Wheeler said records show Kearnes has worked for at least three area law enforcement departments.
Kearnes is in the Canadian County jail on $65,000 bond.
