Chicago Style Pizza
1 can refrigerated pizza crust
1 teaspoon cornmeal
1 1/2 cup pizza sauce *See below
1 pound sausage, browned
1/2 onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 cup sliced mushrooms
5 slices provolone cheese
1 cup mozzarella, grated
20 pepperoni slices
Parmesan cheese
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Spray a 10 in round cake pan with nonstick cooking spray and sprinkle the bottom and sides with cornmeal. Press the refrigerated pizza crust into the bottom and up the sides of round cake pan. Place the provolone cheese slices all over the bottom of the pizza crust. add the browned sausage, onions, green peppers and mushrooms. Line the pizza with pepperoni slices. Top the pizza with sauce. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until pizza is bubbly and crust is golden brown.
Easy Pizza Sauce
1 can crushed tomatoes
1 teaspoon sugar
3 cloves garlic, grated
1 tablespoon Italian herbs
1 teaspoon salt
Stir together and you have pizza sauce!
