It isn’t quite football season yet, but OU fans will get a taste of Fall as the Sooners play in the Spring Game at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Oklahoma is coming off of an Orange Bowl appearance, and fell just short of playing in the national championship game if the Sooners could’ve taken care of Clemson in the College Football Semifinal.
Saturday will be filled with festivities for all, ranging from great concessions, an OU Spring Sale at 8 a.m. and a Sooner Jr. Kids Zone that opens at 10 a.m. in the McCasland Field House parking lot.
All seating is general admission for the game and can be purchased online or at the OU Athletics Ticket Office. If you aren’t able to make it to the game, FOX Sports Oklahoma will be broadcasting the game with Chad McKee, Dusty Dvoracek and Jessica Coody on the call.
Along with the game broadcast, News 9 will have a crew in Norman covering the game, and our Dean Blevins will be sending out tweets and video throughout the day.
How will Baker Mayfield look coming off of his breakout season? Is there promise among OU’s group of linebackers? How will the secondary look without Zack Sanchez? How much will we get to see newcomer quarterbacks Austin Kendal and Kyler Murray? What’s the state of the receiving corps without Sterling Shepard and Durron Neal?
Those are all valid questions entering the season for the Sooners, and Saturday’s Spring Game will likely shine a better light on what we can expect come August.
Be sure to stay with News 9 for coverage of the game, and keep checking in to see what Dean and the rest of the sports staff has to say about the Sooners.
