The Sooners are losing a former four-star recruit before he even played a meaningful snap. Redshirt freshman receiver John Humphrey announced he is transferring on Twitter Wednesday afternoon.

Humphrey was the Sooners’ top-ranked receiver recruit from the high school ranks in last year’s class. The speedster out of Clear Falls High School was named Scout Team Offensive Player of the Year by the coaches during his redshirt year.
As for OU, it’ll be a bit of a new-look receiver corps for Baker Mayfield this fall. DeDe Westbrook, Miciah Quick and tight end Mark Andrews all return and Penn State graduate transfer Geno Lewis brings experience right away.
