A motorcyclist was hospitalized late Wednesday night after leading police on a chase through Oklahoma City and crashing into a cable barrier.
An OKC Police officer attempted to stop the motorcycle on a traffic-related offense on I-44 near NW 23rd St just after 10:30 p.m. The driver failed to stop and initiated a high-speed chase down I-44. The chase ended on I-44 near Penn. after police backed off due to dangerous speeds of over 100 mph.
The motorcyclist, described as a male in his early 30s, continued at the high speed until crashing into a cable barrier on I-44 near Broadway Extension. Drugs and a large amount of cash were found in the motorcyclist's backpack.
Police say that the motorcyclist is not expected to survive his injuries. His identity has not been released.
