Here's a new idea you may be interested in when it comes to finding a safe spot during a tornado warning. A man claims he's developed an idea just in time for the stormiest part of the year.
Many people take shelter in closets during tornadoes, but probably not ones that are armored.
More than 600 people have already bought into the idea of a custom-fit, reinforced closet to protect them. We're told the outside is strong enough to handle a 45 caliber bullet and thick enough to withstand an EF-5 tornado.
There's also a special tool that will help you find another way out of the closet if it's blocked by debris.
The developer says he came up with the idea after he noticed most storm shelters were built outside and looked "hideous."
"It seems counterproductive to run into the hail and the tornado weather to get to your shelter," said David Magiera, Armored Closet Owner.
The starting price for an armored closet is just under $4,000.
