NWS Upgrades Ratings Of Katie, Bromide Tornadoes

The National Weather Service in Norman has upgraded the ratings of a tornado that touched down near Katie in Garvin County, and another one that touched down near Bromide in Johnson County on Monday.

Based on more intensive review of survey data, the tornado that touched down near Katie has been upgraded from an EF-3 to an EF-4.

The tornado that touched down near Bromide has been upgraded from an EF-2 to an EF-3.

Multiple structures were destroyed and damaged in these tornadoes. Two people, 76-year-old Chester Barnes who lived near Wynnewood, and 76-year-old Jackie Brooks of Milburn, were killed.

A tornado that touched down near Stillwater, Oklahoma, has been rated an EF-2, according to the National Weather Service.
