A tip from an undercover Texas investigator led to the arrest of a Lindsay man who had thousands of pictures and videos of child porn on his computer. During the bust, the man admitted to investigators he'd been doing this for several years.
Investigators call this a "significant bust" after finding more than 100,000 pornographic pictures and videos of children on the man's computer.
The investigation started in Texas when an undercover agent received images of child pornography from a Lindsay man.
The agent gave the information and IP address to Oklahoma officials which opened the Canadian County investigation into Bobby Ables.
On Thursday, May 19 deputies searched Ables’ home where they found a computer containing close to 115,000 pictures and videos.
“We're not talking about just naked pictures of children we're talking about adults carrying out sex acts or raping kids,” said Undersheriff Chris West, Canadian County.
Investigators found images of both boys and girls ranging in age from 3 to 14. And in his closet, investigators say, they found sex toys.
“You could only surmise that what an individual might do with this stuff is look at the magazines, the photographs, and the videos and then act out those fantasies on those dolls,” said Undersheriff West.
Undersheriff Chris West said Ables confessed to downloading and sharing child pornography for the past five years.
Now the focus of the investigation shifts to the children.
“The rest of our investigation will be following up with neighbors and conducting forensic interviews and trying to determine if we have some victims,” Undersheriff West said.
Ables is facing multiple counts of aggravated possession of child pornography, a crime which could potentially lead to life in prison.
