A lot has happened since 1910. In that year, William Howard Taft was president. A stamp cost two cents. Keep in mind it was two years before parachutes, the Oreo cookie and before the Titanic sank. But 1910 was also when Pearl Dunn was born.

Today, the retired pre-school teacher is celebrating her 106th birthday.

Pearl is from Arkansas, but moved to Edmond in the 1950s where she met and married her husband. She taught for 40 years in the preschool at First United Methodist and says teaching was her passion.

She says her secret to a long life is living by the golden rule.
