Since early Sunday morning, I've been watching and LISTENING closely to the reports and the comments about the slaughter in Orlando. Some of it has been predictable, some surprising.

Only a couple of hours after the standoff ended, the FBI agents on the ground in Orlando told the media it was a terror attack, and that the shooter had Islamic leanings.

It was unusual for them to state that so soon after the attack, and it left me wondering who had given them the green light on that statement.

But it was the right thing to do in my opinion, because it put Americans on alert in case there were any other threats there.

Conversely, President Obama said just two hours later in a statement to the media that "they didn't know what motivated the killer" and didn't use the word Islamic at all, that's just not being forthright.

He certainly had to know at that point the killer had stated his allegiance to ISIS in a phone call to police during the standoff.

And I found it very interesting that FBI director James Comey refused to say the Orlando terrorist's name during his news conference because he didn't want to help make him famous.

Comey's FBI appears to be handling this atrocity, even criticism of the Bureau, with openness. That's what the American people want, not political correctness.

I'm Kelly Ogle and that's My 2 Cents.
