Authorities have arrested one person in connection to the shooting death of a teenager in Seminole County, Oklahoma.
According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI,) on Sunday, June 12, Seminole County deputies responded to the report of a shooting on NS 3580. When they arrived, they found 17-year-old Seth Johnson dead from an apparent gunshot wound.
A witness was able to identify 19-year-old Curtlon Panoske as the suspect. Panoske reportedly stole the victim’s vehicle, a 2011 Silver Ford Edge SUV, and drove to Ardmore. An Ardmore police officer conducted a traffic stop at the Willow Brook Apartments at 115 Monroe Avenue NE. Panoske stopped the car and ran from the scene.
For several hours, OSBI agents, Ardmore police officers, Seminole County sheriff’s deputies, Carter County sheriff’s deputies, and Chickasaw Lighthorse police officers pursued Panoske on foot until he was apprehended at approximately 8 a.m. Monday by a Lighthorse officer. Panoske was hiding in the backyard of 19 15th Street NE in Ardmore.
Panoske was then arrested and booked into the Carter County jail on a complaint of first-degree murder, possession of a firearm after former felony conviction, and possession of a stolen vehicle. He will soon be transferred to the Seminole County jail.
Authorities said Panoske and the victim were acquaintances.
