Many people are wondering how they can help the victims of the Orlando shooting. Unfortunately, scammers will likely try to take advantage of their generosity.

The Better Business Bureau says it's just a matter of time before we see these scams increase. Already, the group is hearing of click-bait schemes and questionable solicitations.

If you're thinking about making a donation, the BBB asks you be safe online. They advise you don't click on links you're not familiar with, and always check to see if the website you're giving money to is legit.

One way you can do that is to check the spelling. Scammers often misspell versions of popular websites to lure people who make typos.

Also, make sure you know where the money is going. If a website doesn't explain how the funds will be used, it's probably a scam.

The BBB says if you think you've fallen victim to a scam contact police right away.
