Police are looking for a man responsible for three robberies on Wednesday.

The incident started in Northwest Oklahoma City on N. MacArthur Blvd. and 36th St. Police say a black male suspect walked into Dollar General and held the clerk at gun point.

The suspect was dressed in a black hoodie and armed with a pistol. He demanded cash from the woman. Surveillance video shows her struggling to open the register and needing a manager’s assistance. The suspect then went behind the register and could not get the drawers to open.

He ended up striking the cashier in the face with the pistol. Police say she has minor injuries and that he hit her even when she was trying to comply to his instructions.

The suspect then turned his gun to a customer’s chest as she entered the store. He stole the contents in her purse, then ran across the street into Warr Acres territory.

At that point, two other people exited Dollar General from the back and set off the alarm, including an assistant manager. Police say she went to the Whataburger next door and called 911.

A person who saw what was happening decided to follow the suspect. That’s when the suspect turned the gun at the man outside of Rent Quick and robbed him as well. Police say he fired a couple rounds from his gun, but no one was shot.

Femeya Cole, who works nearby, says she heard the gun shots in the late afternoon.

“Two sharp bangs in the back and I thought someone was banging on the back door trying to get in,” Cole said.

She said sirens were going off all afternoon and describes the chaotic scene.

“There was yellow tape and a fire truck came, ambulance,” said Cole.

Police searched on the roof, in the back of the alley, and looked down from a helicopter to find the armed robber, but he is still on the loose.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or sees him should call Crime Stoppers at (405) 235-7300.
