Now is a time of year when many people carry gas cans to the gas station in their cars to fill them up.
This especially happens if they're mowing their yard and need to fill up the lawn mower.
News 9's Justin Dougherty found out firefighters have a warning about that.
This comes after a man in New York suffered burns when his car burst into flames at a gas station.
This video may be considered graphic, and viewer discretion is advised.
Fire investigators said something ignited vapors from a gas can inside the man's car, causing an explosion which then caused the man's clothes to catch on fire.
Firefighters said because gas is highly explosive and dangerous, people need to be careful when transporting it.
The man in that surveillance video is now being treated for burns on 30 percent of his body.
