Chris Gilmore

Chris Gilmore joins the News 9 team after traveling more than 1,000 miles away from his home state of Florida. He doesn’t mind the trip though, traveling is one of his passions. Chris graduated cum laude from the University of Florida College of Journalism and Telecommunication. He has plenty of experience covering breaking news, features, and severe weather in the Sunshine state. He started his reporting and anchoring career at WCJB TV20 in Gainesville, FL. While there he helped lead coverage on important national stories like the disappearance and murder of UF student Christian Aguilar and the I-75 Car pileup that killed 11 people. After that, he also spent time reporting in southwest Florida at WBBH/WZVN NBC2/AB7. Some of his highlights there include live coverage of the fatal Zombicon shooting, following the 2016 Presidential Primary Campaign Trail, and yes even reporting on multiple tornados!

Chris is excited to be in Oklahoma and learn about what the Midwest has to offer. In his free time you can find him taking pictures, eating local cuisine, cheering on the Thunder, or exploring beautiful Okie landscapes. What he enjoys even more though, is hearing from you!
