Oklahoma City police arrested three people after a carjacking turned into a pursuit.
News 9 captured exclusive footage of one the suspects trying to get away.
Officers say it all started near SW 49 Street and Douglas, when the suspects held a man at gunpoint and stole his pickup.
“It was scary, we didn't know what was going on,” said Esther Arredondo, a resident who lives near the scene. “Just like three houses down they had the truck pulled over and there were cops all the way down from that stop, the block covered.”
Police spotted the suspects, identified as 18-year-old Carlos Aguirre and two juvenile males. They were in the stolen pickup a few miles away and that's when the chase started, lasting about 15 minutes.
“Those situations are high stress whenever someone doesn't yield officers don't know what's going on inside the vehicle and what could happen afterwards,” Oklahoma City police officer Jeff Dutton said.
The pickup raced through the neighborhood streets smashing at least two parked cars along the way.
“It's like all along the edge of the truck, I guess whenever he turned, he just slammed into the truck,” Arredondo said about her family’s SUV.
News 9 cameras were rolling when police say the suspects hopped out and took off on foot near SW 45 and McKinley.
“We heard him, like 'I didn't do anything wrong' we heard him saying, like yelling at the cops,” said Arredondo.
All three were eventually captured and taken into custody. All were arrested on multiple complaints, including armed robbery charges.
