University of Oklahoma President David Boren has recommended a seven percent increase in tuition rates for resident and non-resident students.
The recommendation comes after the state appropriation for higher education was cut by nearly 16 percent for the upcoming fiscal year.
The increase would fall in line with what the Board of Regents for Oklahoma State University approved last week.
The OU Daily reports the 7-percent hike is the largest tuition increase for the university since 2008.
