A suspicious item that was found Monday night in front of the Norman police department building has been deemed safe, police said.
The Oklahoma City police's bomb squad was called in to investigate the item.
About 6:30 p.m., a cleaning crew found a suspicious device while dumping crash outside the north entrance of the building.
The building was on lockdown while the item was being investigated. Police said they moved people to a more secure part of the building.
