A new study ranks Oklahoma as the second most dangerous state in the country. But it is not because of crime. It's because of the one thing our state is known for: Weather.
According to a new report by WalletHub, Oklahoma has the third highest amount of natural disasters between 1980 and 2015. During that time, the survey says natural disasters caused at least $1 billion or more in damages.
Oklahoma also ranks high on the list when it comes to the highest estimated property loss claims from climate disasters.
The study also found Oklahoma does not do well when it comes to crime, but rates were not high enough to rank us in the top 10.
