OKCFD: Homes Evacuated After Gas Leak In NW OKC Neighborhood

The Oklahoma City Fire Department responded to a reported gas leak in NW Oklahoma City Wednesday afternoon.

Crews on scene said a gas line was struck by a backhoe in the alley in the area of 41 and Shartel around 2:50 p.m.

Traffic control was requested, and homes in the area were being evacuated as crews waited until the utility company arrived to make the necessary repairs.
