It was reported on Wednesday morning that the Thunder would have the first crack at meeting with Kevin Durant on Thursday before free agency begins, but it looks like the Thunder want to have the last word as well. ESPN's Marc Stein reported the Thunder is hoping to talk with Durant after he meets with all the other teams on his list.
ESPN sources say the Thunder, meeting with Kevin Durant as we speak, are also seeking to land a follow-up sitdown with KD in the Hamptons.— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) June 30, 2016
OKC's hope, I'm told, is making one last pitch to KD in the Hamptons after the Warriors, Clippers, Spurs, Celtics and Heat get their turns.— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) June 30, 2016
Durant reportedly will meet with the Warriors and Clippers on Friday, the Spurs and Celtics on Saturday, and the Miami Heat on Sunday. Seeing Heat President Pat Riley is known for being very persuasive when given a sit-down meetings, it's no surprise the Thunder want to be fresh on Durant's mind before he makes his final decision.
