Thursday, June 30, is the last day of Kevin Durant's contract with the Thunder and the big question now is what will he do next season.
It's the one question that's on every Thunder fan's mind. Will he stay? or will he go?
According to ESPN, KD met with Thunder General Manager Sam Presti and Assistant General Manager Troy Weaver Thursday morning before the former MVP boarded a plane to the Hamptons where he has meetings set up with five other teams.
Officially Durant's free agency doesn't start until 11:01 Thursday, so the three weren't allowed to talk specifics but they are allowed to take his temperature, to see where he's at or rather how far they need to go to convince him to stay. And fans are doing their part too.
“That is my dream to see KD and give him a high five,” said Canyon Payne.
Canyon Payne,12, of Sherman, TX, is in town for a basketball tournament. KD is his favorite player.
“I also want him to stay and continue the franchise with Russell Westbrook and Victor Oladipo's coming up so that'd be a great trio,” said Canyon.
And Jason Devoe? He's a Laker's fan who says Durant's legacy is in Oklahoma
“I guess I’m old school. I watched Kobe play every game for the Lakers and I kind of want him to him do the same thing. Don't leave OKC. So if he's watching this don't leave! Don't leave!” said Devoe.
Just a reminder to keep your videos, tweets and Facebook posts coming into News9. Tell KD why you want him to stay in Oklahoma City just use the hashtag #StayInOKC.
Reportedly, the Thunder are also trying to set up a meeting with KD in the Hamptons this weekend, possibly hoping they will be the last team he hears from before making his decision.
