Red, White And Blue Roll Cake

  • 1 box white cake mix
  • Red and blue food coloring
  • Parchment paper
  • Tea towel
  • Powdered sugar
  • Philly refrigerated cheesecake filling
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with sides with parchment paper. Coat the parchment paper with butter and then flour.
  2. Prepare the cake mix according to package instructions. Divide the cake mix into 3 equal bowl. Add red food coloring to one of the bowls and stir till the desired color is reached. Do the same with blue in the second bowl.
  3. Now pour each color into its own Ziploc bag and seal. Snip the ends. Squeeze the batter in rows alternating colors till the pan is filled. Bake for 20-25 minutes. While cake is baking, prepare the dish towel by dusting it heavily with powdered sugar.
  4. Remove the cake from the oven and allow the cake to cool 10 minutes. Then invert the cake onto the sugar dusted towel and carefully remove the parchment paper. Using the towel, roll the cake in the dusted towel and allow the cake to cool.
  5. Unroll the cake and then put a heaping amount of cheesecake filling in the center and re-roll up. Refrigerate till you are ready to Slice and serve.
