Sheriff’s deputies are on the lookout for at least two suspects who stole an ATM from a rural Cleveland County gas station over the weekend, causing heavy damage to the business in the process.
The sheriff’s office received a call from a passerby just before 5 a.m. on July 2. The caller reported seeing a window shattered at the Sooner Country Store, located E. Maguire Rd. and 120th Ave. SE. in Noble, Okla.
When deputies arrived they not only found the window shattered, but extensive damage to the inside of the business and the ATM missing.
Surveillance footage from inside the store captured two masked men enter and connect some sort of cable to the ATM. After several unsuccessful attempts, and over the course of about six minutes, the men were finally able to remove the ATM from the store.
According to the sheriff’s office, the loss, including the machine, is estimated at approximately $10,000. The report did not say if that total included the damage done to the store.
Anyone with information that could lead to an arrest is asked to call the Cleveland County Sheriff’s office tip line at (405) 701-8870 or Crime Stoppers at (405) 701-8872.
