Oklahoma City Police arrested three suspects in connection with three separate arson investigations.
Police arrested 34-year-old Davila Paredes for attempting to start a fire at his home on the 600 block of S.E. 33rd St. Friday, July 8.
Police say Paredes was seen pouring gasoline on a house he and his parents lived in.
Authorities say Paredes was upset about losing custody of his child to his girlfriend who was moving away.
Police say Paredes’ parents tried several times to convince him to not start a fire and eventually his mother succeeded.
Paredes placed the lighter in his pocket then began walking away from the home with his child and girlfriend.
The mother followed them until she got the child and returned back to home.
Police arrested Paredes for arson.
Oklahoma City Police arrested 37-year-old Leslie Short for arson, in connection to an apartment fire near the 2800 block of S.W. 59th St. Saturday, July 9. Short is in Oklahoma County Jail.
Oklahoma City Police arrested 33-year-old Stephen Gurry for catching his girlfriend’s apartment on fire Sunday, July 10.
Police say the Gurry and his girlfriend lived at the apartment together.
According to police, the girlfriend said they were arguing about Gurry’s living situation between the apartment and his mother’s home.
Police say Gurry continued to argue with his girlfriend and set a bed on fire.
Gurry is in Oklahoma County Jail.
