Police have identified the body of a man who died in police custody in northwest Oklahoma City Wednesday morning.

According to police, 35-year-old DeAngelo Webb died after an altercation with officers near N.W. 46th and Western.

Witnesses said Webb was cursing at employees at a nearby 7-Eleven store. Officers arrived and tried to talk to the Webb. But, police say he charged at them with a pair of scissors. An officer then tasered Webb.

Webb reportedly fell to the ground and began to stab himself.  Officers said they disarmed and placed handcuffs and leg restrictions on him.

According to police, officers then noticed Webb was having difficulty breathing. They removed his handcuffs and called EMSA.

Webb was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The officers involved were SSgt. Jeff Sellers, SSgt. Chris Lambert, and Ofc. Jacob Thomas.

They have been placed on administrative leave during the investigation.
