A 5-month-old boy died last Saturday, after his parents told police they found him not breathing Friday, July 15.

Oklahoma City Police say it happened in a ground floor unit at Putnam Green Apartments on Lyrewood Lane.

Police said the father, Zhaquille Davis, told them he put his son Zaaric Davis down for a nap after feeding him. Then, Davis said when he went to check on his son ten minutes later, Zaaric wasn’t breathing.

That’s when Davis and the boy’s mother Roseanna Lewis called 911.

Paramedics tried to revive the boy, but doctors at Integris Baptist pronounced him dead the following day.

“At this point there have been no arrests in the case,” said Police Spokesman Gary Knight.

“They are at the point of trying to interview everyone involved, and see if they can determine what happened to the child,” he continued.

Knight said Thursday, the Medical Examiner determined the death a homicide. But as of Thursday night, the M.E.’s office had not revealed the manner of death.

The child’s death is Oklahoma City’s 42nd homicide of 2016, according to police.
