Report: Thunder In Serious Talks About Westbrook Contract Extension

The Oklahoma City Thunder are gaining momentum towards signing Russell Westbrook to a contract extension that would secure the point guard in OKC through the 2018-19 season, according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The report, that can be seen here, says Westbrook's agent, Thad Foucher of Wasserman Media Group, is engaged in serious talks with the Thunder on a contract extension.

The proposed deal would allow Westbrook to opt out of the third year of the deal and enter free agency again in the Summer of 2018.

It would be a huge move for the Thunder, as the organization attempts to move on from the shocking departure of Kevin Durant last month.
