The first preseason polls are coming out and that can only mean one thing: real, live football games are coming soon to stadiums near you.
The USA Today Coaches Poll dropped Thursday morning with Oklahoma ranked No. 3 and Oklahoma State No. 19. Both Bob Stoops and Mike Gundy are contributing voters to the poll this year.
Alabama topped the poll and garnered 55-of-64 first-place votes. Clemson is second and received seven first-place votes. Two of the Sooners’ non-conference opponents are in the preseason top 13 with Week 3 opponent Ohio State ranked fifth and opening week foe Houston at No. 13.
Fellow Big 12 mates No. 14 TCU and No. 21 Baylor bookended the Cowboys. OSU’s Week 3 opponent Pittsburgh received votes.
