Former OU offensive lineman and first round pick Lane Johnson is reportedly facing a 10 game suspension for violating the leagues' PED policy, according to Darren DeGaetano of WIP Philly.
I have been told Lane Johnson will be suspended 10 games for PED violation. His 2nd offense. #Eagles— Darren DeGaetano (@DarrenDegaetano) August 9, 2016
Johnson is appealing the suspension, and claims the amino acid he was taking was approved, according to Fox's Jay Glazer.
Just heard from Lane Johnson, says he took an amino acid that was approved but tested positive for peptide. Fighting it as well as company. You're responsible for what goes in your body but he insists it was approved. Waiting on B sample.
Johnson was suspended the first four games of the 2014 season for his first PED offense, but signed a six-year, $66.1 million deal with the Eagles this past offseason that includes $35.5 million in guaranteed money.
