A fake pizza order leads a delivery driver into trouble, but the suspect got more than he was expecting after trying to steal the worker’s car.
The delivery driver’s name is Mohammad Odetella. He walked up to an apartment at 4418 NW 36th Street to deliver pizza and heard someone jump into his car. Odetella instantly ran back to his vehicle. He thankfully left the driver-side window cracked open.
“I threw my hand into the window, grabbed him by the hoodie, pulled the hoodie out of the car, and stuck in this hand, punching him,” said Odetella.
He continued to punch the suspect, got in the back seat, and put the robber in a headlock. That’s when the suspect hit the gas pedal and ran the car into the building.
Odetella said even though there were several witnesses nearby, he had to call 911 on his own. The suspect was able to get away at that time.
Anyone with information about the suspect can contact Crime Stoppers at 235-7300.
