Motorcycle Officer Injured In Crash In Midwest City

A Midwest City motorcycle officer is in the hospital after a crash near SE 15th and S. Douglas Blvd. Friday afternoon.

First responders were called out to the scene around 3:45 p.m. According to police, the motorcycle officer was heading southbound on Douglas when he was clipped by a vehicle puling out of the Arvest bank. 

The officer was thrown approximately 60 feet from the bike and was initially unconscious when emergency crews arrived. He was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in stable condition. Police have identified the officers as Sgt. Matthew Myers, a 20-year veteran with the department.

No charges or citation shave been issued to the driver at this time.

Authorities had to shut down Douglas Blvd. in both directions, just south of SE 15th St., while crews worked the scene.
