Large Quake Followed By Multiple Aftershocks

Saturday's 5.6 earthquake centered near Pawnee, OK. was followed by multiple smaller aftershocks.

The Oklahoma Geological Survey reported more than 10 aftershocks have been associated to the 5.6-magnitude quake. The mean of these quakes is 3.0 magnitude and the maximum strength of the aftershock earthquakes was a 3.6 magnitude.

As of 4:10 pm CDT, there have been 9 aftershocks from the 5.6 M quake, with a mean of 3.0 M and a maximum of 3.6 M. pic.twitter.com/fIE3w59wYb

Multiple Oklahomans reported feeling these aftershocks.

A U.S. Geological Survey seismologist said the aftershock location show a previously unknown conjugate fault has been activated.
