Police searched for a suspect who fled the scene of an attempted armed robbery in northwest Oklahoma City, Thursday morning.
Authorities said two suspects were involved in a reported home robbery that took place after 1:00 a.m. near NW 96th and N. Western Avenue. According to officials, one suspect who was formerly employed by the residents, entered the home to inquire about future work. At one point, the suspect excused himself from the home to text someone.
Minutes later a second suspect busted the back door of the home open and demanded cash. Residents told police the suspect was armed.
The residents also told police they managed to convince the suspects they didn't have any money. Both suspects fled the scene, before police arrested one, 20-year-old Dedrick Green. Officials established a perimeter around the area in search of the second suspect. A K-9 officer also assisted in the ground search.
No injuries have been reported. Police have not reported a description of the second suspect or whether or not anything was stolen.
