There’s no calm after Monday night’s powerful storms.

Crews near Wilshire Blvd. and Broadway Extension are cleaning up after powerful winds pealed back a roof like a sardine can, sending it flying. Terri Wilson works in the same office park.

"You are looking at the roof of Patterson Dental Supply that is nearly an inch from breaking out our windows." Wilson said.

News 9's radar shows a brief increase in the wind speed in the area around 9:30 p.m. It only lasted a minute or two, but winds reached in excess of 80 mph. It was enough to blow down a tree in front of Wattie Wolfe Company.  It also took down their flag pole and blew out all the front windows.

"It's pretty extensive,” said Gary Henderson with Wattie Wolfe Company. “I got a call about 4 in the morning that we had some storm damage. I came up here and I had no idea we had this extensive of damage."

Henderson has worked for the company for almost 40 yrs and has never seen anything like this.  He'll spend the remaining daylight hours trying to clean up this mess.

"It's not what I had planned for the 4th.” Henderson said, “But it's one of those things."
