One person has been detained early Monday after an hours long standoff in eastern Oklahoma County, the sheriff's office spokesman told News 9.

The incident began just after 6 p.m. near Wilshire Boulevard and Luther Road as a home burglary call.

A security alarm was tripped at a home about five miles east of Jones. The security company called the homeowners who said they were out of town. When police arrived, the suspect closed and locked the door.

The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office has identified the suspect as 35-year-old Stephen McGraw.

A standoff lasted until early Monday, when police confirmed they detained McGraw after authorities used tear gas to get him put of the house.

Authorities tell News 9 that McGraw was taken to the hospital for evaluation. He is facing complaints of burglary, destruction of property and resisting arrest. Authorities say McGraw also has outstanding warrants out of Oklahoma County for violation of a suspended sentence, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.
