An Oklahoma City man is facing complaints of child abuse and domestic assault, after police say he attacked his teenage daughter on Halloween.

It happened at a home near NE 56th Street and NE Grand Boulevard. According to the report, the suspect, identified as 34-year-old Rahshaan Sardis, was upset that his 15-year-old daughter had taken her grandmother’s car.

The report states that, when the girl brought the vehicle back home, Sardis immediately began his assault, punching the victim in the face approximately 30 times. The victim told police she tried to escape and run to her room, but said Sardis followed her, pinned her down and started to strangle her.

The victim said she got away again and ran into the kitchen, but she said Sardis continued to follow her, this time grabbing a butcher knife, which she said he began to swing wildly, while shouting, “I’m going to kill you.”

During the attack the victim told police that Sardis had bitten her once on her back and once on her left cheek. She somehow managed to escape from the house without being stabbed and ran to a friend’s house when the police were called.

Initially, officers could not locate Sardis at the scene, but he was eventually arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on complaints of child abuse, domestic assault with a deadly weapon and domestic assault and battery by strangulation.

Also during the incident, a cousin of the victim was accused of pointing a pistol at her and making threats. That person was also arrested for pointing a firearm. They were not identified in the police report.
